Mì là — also known as beeswax amber — is rich as honey, soft as wax. Formed tens of millions of years ago when pine resin fell to the ground and was buried deep beneath the earth, it absorbed the hidden energy of the land over countless ages. The ancients treasured it as a token for communing with heaven and earth: Buddhism counts it among the Seven Treasures; Tibetan Buddhism uses it as a sacred blessed object; Taoism employs it in alchemy, medicine, and the empowerment of ritual tools.
